Last month, personal (M1) cars accounted for 17,794 units, and light commercial vehicles (N1) – 916 units. In July, the most registered car brands in the country were BMW (2,373 units), Volkswagen (2,051), and Audi (1,409).

Among models, the leaders were the BMW 5 Series (561 units), BMW 3 Series (538), and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter (417). The average age of used cars registered for the first time in Lithuania was 10.1 years. The share of diesel cars was 58.2% (July 2025 – 62.8%).
Last month, 22,646 used passenger car ownership transfer operations were performed in Lithuania, i.e., 10.2% more than in July 2025 (20,549). There were 21,972 ownership transfer operations for personal cars (M1) and 674 for light commercial vehicles (N1).
In July, the cars that most frequently changed owners were Volkswagen (3,319 units), BMW (2,803), and Toyota (2,535). The most common ownership transfers were for Volkswagen Passat (886 units), BMW 3 Series (878), and BMW 5 Series (796) models. The average age of used cars that changed owners was 14.1 years.

From January to July 2026, 107,757 used passenger cars were registered for the first time in Lithuania, i.e., 10.5% more than in the corresponding period of 2025 (97,530). Their average age was 10.5 years. The share of diesel cars was 59.7% (2025 – 64.6%).
In the first seven months of 2026, 144,489 used passenger car ownership transfer operations were performed in the country, i.e., 14.0% more than in the corresponding period of 2025 (126,744). The average age of cars that changed owners this year was 14.4 years.
