Inflation in July was recorded for the second consecutive month after deflation in May (0.1%). Until then, all months this year were inflationary.

The July inflation was mostly influenced by the increase in prices of air passenger transport, electricity, holidays, personal care, cleaning and maintenance products, wood (including pellets and briquettes), medicines, natural gas, and diesel.

At the same time, prices of clothing, fuel, fruits, footwear, and meat decreased.

Prices of housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels increased by 2%. The biggest impact was from the increase in prices of wood fuel, including pellets and briquettes (5.8%), natural gas (5.5%), and electricity (4.4%). Meanwhile, prices of liquefied hydrocarbons (4.3%) and liquid fuel (4.1%) decreased.

Prices of food products and non-alcoholic beverages decreased by 0.5%, mainly due to the drop in prices of vegetables (11.7%), fresh stone fruits and pome fruits (8.5%), and ice cream (7.6%), but soft drinks (5.8%) and other non-alcoholic beverages (5.5%) became more expensive.

Prices of personal care, social protection, and various goods and services increased by 3%, healthcare by 8.9%, and transport by 13.5%.

The annual inflation was mostly influenced by the increase in prices of heating, gasoline, diesel, technical inspection and repair of personal vehicles, wood fuel, electricity, public catering services, cigarettes, spirits, outpatient medical and rehabilitation services, medicines, beer, liquefied hydrocarbons, holiday trips, as well as the decrease in prices of used cars, meat products, vegetables, fresh stone fruits and pome fruits, butter and other dairy fats and oils, products for pets, vegetable oil, ice cream, and potatoes.

Prices of consumer goods decreased by 0.1% over the month, services increased by 1%, and over the year they grew by 5.6% and 6.5%, respectively.

Prices of consumer goods and services administered by state and municipal institutions increased by 1.7% over the month, market prices did not change, and over the year they increased by 11.3% and 5.1%, respectively.
