All newly installed “Iki” self-service checkouts already have a special screen controller that helps people with mobility disabilities use them more conveniently. In other stores where self-service checkouts were installed earlier, this software solution has also started to be implemented. When accessibility mode is activated in such self-service checkouts, an additional controller will appear at the bottom of the screen. It can be moved to the left or right edge of the screen – wherever it is more convenient for the customer to reach.
Another important innovation is the magnifier, or magnifying glass, mode. When activated, texts, buttons, and other options visible on the screen are enlarged and highlighted.

If assistance is needed in selecting or activating the mode, store employees will offer it – with the customer’s consent, they will help activate the required accessibility function.
The latest software version with these features is currently already active in 85 “Iki” self-service checkouts in Vilnius, Klaipėda, Alytus, Marijampolė, Ukmergė, and other Lithuanian cities. By the end of the year, it is planned to implement these functionalities in all “Iki” self-service checkouts.
