Hurricane-force wind measured in Lithuania on Saturday: where was it the strongest?

According to Meteo.lt, based on preliminary data, the strongest wind gusts on Saturday were measured at Ventė Cape and Nida by the sea (at 24 m height) – the wind here reached up to 33 m/s. Meteo.lt reminds that a catastrophic (hurricane) wind is considered to be a wind with a speed of ≥33 m/s (≥119 km/h).

The strongest wind gusts on Saturday were measured at:

Ventė Cape and Nida by the sea (at 24 m height) – up to 33 m/s;

Klaipėda port (at 24 m height) – up to 32 m/s;

Šilutė and Ukmergė – up to 28 m/s;

Kaunas and Kybartai (Vilkaviškis district) – up to 26 m/s;

Klaipėda meteorological station (at 24 m height) – up to 26 m/s;

Panevėžys, Rokiškis and Šumskas (Vilnius district) – up to 25 m/s;

Lazdijai and Dūkštas (Ignalina district) – up to 24 m/s;

Šventoji – up to 24 m/s;

Nida, Vėžaičiai (Klaipėda district), Tauragė, Marijampolė and Dotnuva (Kėdainiai district) – up to 23 m/s.
