What America asked Zelensky

Earlier, sources from the “Financial Times” reported that at the end of July, the US asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky not to attack tankers near Novorossiysk to avoid threatening Kazakhstan’s oil supply through the consortium terminal. According to them, he agreed not to strike the ships on the condition that they are not on Ukraine’s sanctions list and do not carry Russian cargo.

In July, drone attacks repeatedly disrupted the work of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium and forced Kazakhstan to reduce production. At the end of the month, after strikes on at least eight tankers, the consortium considered the possibility of suspending operations due to threats to safety and the environment, reports “The Moscow Times.”

In July, about 1.3 million barrels of oil per day were shipped through the Caspian pipelines – 300 thousand less than the previous month, calculated by “Kpler.” Compared to May figures, the volume decreased by 600 thousand barrels per day. Russian crude accounts for 5-10 percent of the consortium’s exports.
