A. Šeininas is named in the EU document as a Russian propagandist and the host of the state-controlled “First Channel” show “Vremia pokažet” (lit. “Time will tell”). The sanctions document states that he supported the annexation of Crimea and the joining of the so-called Donetsk and Luhansk republics.
“In live broadcasts, A. Šeininas promotes ethnic hatred between Ukrainians and Russians, denies Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, and slanders V. Putin’s opponents in Russia,” the EU sanctions document states.

Implementing the sanctions, the Financial Crime Investigation Service (FNTT) seized an apartment larger than 100 square meters in Palanga belonging to the propagandist and his spouse.
In 2014, this property was valued at nearly 60 thousand euros, but by 2022 its market value was significantly higher.
