“LAT received the cassation appeal from the defender of the convicted A. Ulvidas. It requests to annul the guilty verdict of the Kaunas District Court, which found A. Ulvidas guilty of 33 criminal acts under Article 153(1) of the Criminal Code, and to terminate the criminal case against him,” said T. Merkevičiūtė.
The mentioned article of the Criminal Code provides liability for molestation of a person under 16 years of age.

LAT decided to examine the mentioned cassation appeal of A. Ulvidas.
As BNS wrote, in this largest case of A. Ulvidas’ molestation of minors, the Kaunas District Court in April upheld his sentence of six years and nine months imprisonment.
According to the case data, between 2016 and 2018, A. Ulvidas took girls at least 50 times to a forest in the Karmėlava eldership, where he danced for them while exposing his genitals. 25 girls were recognized as victims in the case.

According to LAT representative T. Merkevičiūtė, the cassation court also received and accepted for consideration another appeal from A. Ulvidas, requesting to terminate one of his cases or to return it for review to the court of first or appellate instance.
A. Ulvidas challenges unfavorable court decisions, basing his position, among other things, on a mental disorder – a tendency to expose himself. According to law enforcement and courts, he committed the acts of molestation voluntarily.
The man has been convicted multiple times for molesting persons under 16 years of age and for possession of pornography.
