Fausta Marija Leščiauskaitė opened her heart – spoke about the miscarriage: "We saw a beating heart..."

On the social network “Instagram,” she spoke about a painful experience – a non-developing pregnancy.

Struggling to hold back tears, the woman recorded a sensitive video aiming to support families in similar situations.

“I don’t know who I’m recording this video for – maybe for my future self, or maybe just hoping that someday I’ll dare to share it with people so that they would feel less alone. Almost six weeks ago, Matas and I found out we were expecting our second child. It wasn’t unexpected; as always, we ‘planned’ everything chaotically. We just decided to try one day, and soon after, we got a positive pregnancy test. We were very happy,” F.M. Leščiauskaitė began her story.

However, the family’s joy was soon overshadowed by anxiety. After visiting the doctor, the journalist heard a frightening prognosis – the pregnancy was likely not developing. Blood tests performed by the doctors only confirmed this assumption.

“I was told to wait for miscarriage symptoms, but they never appeared. When I went back to the doctor, I had accepted the idea that I would be prescribed medication to help my body clear out. But then we saw a beating heart… We had a week and a half of joy, hope that everything was fine. Until today, when miscarriage symptoms appeared… Today, when I came to the doctor, it turned out that the little formation is slowly disappearing,” the woman shared her experience.

Fausta admitted she is not superstitious, so many close people knew about the pregnancy from the start. She said she does not regret sharing this news for a moment because the support of loved ones – the care of friends, warmth from Matas’s parents and brother – helps her endure this difficult time.

“I noticed that when people cannot conceive or experience a miscarriage, they tend to keep it quiet. Even I caught myself not knowing how to talk about it. I will probably be one of those who cry on camera, but I understand – either I have to write it all down or cry as I do now because otherwise, I won’t make this recording. Talking helps me a lot to get through this,” she said, struggling to hold back tears.

Despite the pain experienced, F.M. Leščiauskaitė tries not to lose a positive outlook and to trust what fate sends: “Everything is fine; this happens to people. It happened to us once, and God willing, only once if we ever decide to try again. I really try to trust the universe – maybe nothing happens without a reason. I think the universe protected not only me but also the little one from some unhappy life. In any case, everything is fine. Most of all, I would like people not to feel alone in this pain.”

“I never thought I would have children. Really. I was not a happy child. And I didn’t see many happy families. And it often hurts me even now. But I love my child to the moon and back. And forward. And back. And forward. And back. And that little seed in my belly with a beating heart, which I never became a mother to, I loved.

In life, I know how to hate. And I know how to be angry. And to curse. But I also know how to love strongly. I even grow to love neighbors over time. And I loved that seed strongly. Although after a long day of tension waiting for the appointment, I felt a great relief. Any answer is better. Than that tension rising to my throat.

I tell this because I very quickly and strongly felt how lonely this can be. How hard it is to speak not because the topic is uncomfortable, but because you don’t know how to put those words together. So you smile and say everything is fine.
I share so I wouldn’t pretend it didn’t happen. Because only after telling others did I hear: me too, and me, and us.

Maybe this post will go unnoticed. Because it’s too long, because it won’t be shown in the general feed, and I don’t want to think about it in the context of algorithms. It hurts me. If so, let it remain a memory for me.

I can’t show bad when it’s not bad, and I can’t paint a smile when it’s mourning,” she added after publishing the post.
