The identity of the victim was soon revealed. It is Normunds Vamzis, a teacher at the Liepaja Music, Art and Design Secondary School and head of the clothing design program. This talented educator had also left traces of his career in Lithuania. This painful news was confirmed to the portal Liepajniekiem.lv by a relative of the deceased.

The tragic death of the man was sensitively mourned by Jolanta Talaikytė, a professor at the Vilnius Academy of Arts Department of Fashion Design, who knew him well.
“Deepest condolences to the Latvian and Lithuanian Fashion Designers community for the unexpected tragic death of Normunds Vamzis, a graduate of the Vilnius Academy of Arts Department of Fashion Design (then Costume Department), designer, fashion lecturer, colleague, and sincere sensitive friend… Just one fateful moment… Rest in peace, dear friend,” wrote J. Talaikytė.
We remind you that the celebration in Priekule, Latvia, on July 26 ended in tragedy – during a conflict, a man suffered severe injuries and died. The deceased is Normunds Vamzis, a teacher at the Liepaja Music, Art and Design Secondary School, who also worked in Lithuania. According to the portal Liepajniekiem.lv, the suspect is a junior inspector of the Latvian State Police.
