Compared to the same quarter last year, seasonally adjusted GDP in the euro area increased by 1.2% in the second quarter, and in the EU by 1.4%. In the previous quarter, annual growth was 0.6% and 0.9%, respectively.

For comparison, in the second quarter, compared to the first, US GDP increased by 0.4%, and over the year this country’s economy grew by 2.1%.
