It is currently unclear how long the New York team will have to manage without the 28-year-old center forward.
According to sports injury analyst Jeff Stotts, much depends on whether the player will need surgery. In that case, M. Robinson’s season would likely be over, and the Knicks would have to manage without this player in the finals.
If M. Robinson avoids surgery, he could return for some of the final series games.

The player, who has represented the Knicks throughout his career since 2018, averaged 5.7 points and 8.8 rebounds per 19.6 minutes in the regular season, while his stats dropped to 5.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per 14.2 minutes in the playoffs.
His playing time is significantly limited by his free throw accuracy – 40.8% in the regular season and only 30.2% in the playoffs.
The Knicks defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 4-0 in the Eastern Conference finals and will start the NBA finals next Wednesday against the Oklahoma City Thunder or the San Antonio Spurs. The New York team, playing in the finals for the first time since 1999, will seek the third NBA title in club history and the first since 1973.
