Residents whose electricity supply is restored within 3–6 days will be compensated up to 220 euros, 7–13 days – up to 440 euros, more than 14 days – up to 660 euros, ESO announced on Friday.

“We want to compensate losses as soon as possible and thus at least partially reduce the burden on people, so we will start paying the first payments already on Monday,” said ESO head Renaldas Radvila in a statement.
Compensation for spoiled food will be up to 60 euros, for accommodation – up to 60 euros per day, for generator rental – up to 40 euros per day, for its purchase – up to 220 euros, and for its fuel – up to 90 euros per day.
So far, the company has announced compensation of up to 220 euros for direct losses in total.
The company reports having already received about 2.8 thousand residents’ requests to compensate a total damage of 0.664 million euros. Most often, compensation is requested for spoiled food.

35% of people request 200–500 euros, 21% – up to 60 euros, and 19% – 100–200 euros compensation.
In addition, ESO will pay a compensation calculated according to the methodology of the State Energy Regulatory Council (VERT) if there was no electricity for more than 72 hours – it is estimated that about 6 million euros will be needed for this. Meanwhile, the announced amount to cover direct losses of people was about 2 million euros.
Compensations for delayed supply restoration and direct losses will be paid separately, ESO says. Residents who have already submitted requests will not need to submit another request.
BNS wrote that after the storm on August 22, electricity supply was disrupted for more than 268 thousand users. On Friday, about 2 thousand users still do not have electricity.
