The consortium led by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund includes, among others, US investment companies Silver Lake and Affinity Partners. The latter company, based in Miami, was founded by Jared Kushner, son-in-law of US President Donald Trump.

The European Commission stated that it had concluded that the acquisition “will not raise competition concerns, given its limited impact on competition in the markets where these companies operate.”

The Commission is also examining the acquisition under foreign subsidies rules, with a decision expected by July 30.
