He stated that the waste was brought back to the “Ekonovus” territory.

R. Draskinis explained that “Energesman” issued an invoice for the acceptance of biodegradable waste, but not for Monday, rather for waste delivered in June–July.

“They unilaterally just took and issued it, we have no contract or anything. I have no idea on what basis the price was set. But we informed VAATC and are waiting for further instructions,” he said.

“Energesman” head Algirdas Blazgys confirmed to BNS that the company did not accept the waste, but said that a promise was received from Vilnius municipality that payment for waste acceptance will be made.

“We did not accept the waste. We received a promise from the municipality that today (Monday – BNS) or tomorrow VAATC will handle the payment issues,” he said.

VAATC and the municipality have not yet responded to BNS whether they will pay “Energesman” for the accepted waste.

Earlier on Monday, A. Blazgys said that “Energesman” will not accept sorted biodegradable waste from “Ekonovus” if the operator is not paid for it.

Meanwhile, “Ekonovus” head R. Draskinis emphasized earlier on Monday to BNS that “Energesman” must comply with the Vilnius Emergency Operations Center order and accept the waste.

As BNS wrote, VAATC agreed on temporary waste sorting with the companies “Ekonovus” and “Ecoservice.” Both should take over 65% of the waste sorting demand.

On Monday, Vilnius mayor Valdas Benkunskas announced that an agreement was also reached with the third private waste sorting company “Ekobazė.” According to him, this will allow sorting all the region’s waste.
