Two reasons allow us to draw this conclusion. One of them is the rising gas price.

“We are seeing really high levels here – last week trading on the Dutch exchange ended at 66 euros per megawatt. This is the highest price since 2023,” explained M. Dubnikovas.

On the other hand, according to him, European gas storage facilities are gradually filling up – currently they are more than 60% full. This shows that Europe is already starting to prepare for the upcoming heating season.

The second reason is rising biofuel prices.

“Gas is more important for businesses because it is the energy source they use. Biofuel is relevant for residents and households, as it is used to heat the major Lithuanian cities,” summarized M. Dubnikovas.
