As confirmed to 15min by the Fire Protection and Rescue Department, one of the most tragic storm-related incidents was recorded in the Anykščiai district, Mažionys village, Troškūnai eldership, where a tree toppled by strong wind fell on a man and pinned him down. The accident ended tragically – the arriving medics confirmed the man’s death.
Another dangerous incident occurred in Kaunas. Here, a falling tree injured a woman. Medics who arrived at the scene took the injured woman to the hospital. No further information about her condition has been provided yet.
Reports of broken branches and fallen trees are coming from various parts of the country, so residents are advised to avoid parks, wooded areas, and other places where gusts of wind may topple trees or break their branches.
