“The situation is clear – the new asphalt laid on Liepų Street did not meet quality requirements. We saw unevenness, waves, and this means the work was done poorly and must be redone. There is no room in Klaipėda for the attitude of ‘it will somehow do.’ Contractors must adhere to their commitments because quality in our city is not a matter for negotiation. Klaipėda residents pay for well-done work, so that is what we demand. Those who do not meet the standards risk being placed on the list of unreliable contractors and losing the opportunity to work in Klaipėda. Therefore, I invite you not to take risks and to carry out the work as it should be,” said Klaipėda Mayor Arvydas Vaitkus.

Preparatory work will begin at the beginning of June. From June 8, milling and asphalt work will be carried out on the section between Liepų Street buildings No. 48A and No. 38 (heading towards the city center), as well as the stretch from Trilapio Street to house No. 49 on Liepų Street (both traffic sides).
On these sections, worn manhole covers will be replaced and their level will be aligned with the new street surface.

The work will be carried out by UAB “Kelių priežiūra.” The Municipality will not pay for the repair of poorly done work. Only additional work will be paid according to the rates per square meter specified in the contract.
During the work, from 8:30 to 16:00, traffic will be restricted to one lane.
