In April 2026, the Bank of Lithuania suspended the validity of UAB “AlphaPay”‘s license and restricted access to the institution’s accounts containing client funds. Having assessed the totality of the circumstances, the Bank of Lithuania concluded that the institution is no longer able to ensure safe, reliable, and stable operations, which poses a threat to its clients’ interests, and revoked UAB “AlphaPay”‘s payment institution license. This means that the company cannot provide any financial services.
According to the central bank, the institution is insolvent: it does not have sufficient funds and is unable to meet its obligations, and its equity is negative. In view of this, the Bank of Lithuania will apply to the court for the initiation of bankruptcy proceedings against this institution.
