Vice President J. D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are considered by many to be strong contenders for the Republican presidential nomination in the 2028 elections and are seen as rivals in that race.

“I like them both. I like them together,” former President Trump said on the “Pod Force One” podcast of the “New York Post” on Wednesday.
He added, “I don’t know how to beat them if they were together.”
Both Republicans should agree with this idea, but “they really get along well,” Trump speculated.
He did not dare to say which of them should be the presidential candidate and which should run for the vice president post.
Neither of them has officially announced intentions to run. The 54-year-old Rubio has publicly stated that the vice president is his friend and claimed he would not run in 2028 if J. D. Vance were the candidate.

Recent polls show that J. D. Vance and M. Rubio have almost equal support among Republican voters.
Last month, M. Rubio gained attention for confidently leading a White House press conference, answering questions about Iran, Cuba, and China.
He spoke relaxed, with humor, and almost without any insults that Trump often uses during his appearances in the press conference room.
