Escalation at the border and threats posed by Russia
The head of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that armed Russian drones and missiles regularly violate Polish and Lithuanian airspace.
Due to targets approaching the border, the military has already reinforced the Dorohusk border control point with an anti-missile defense system and mobile fortifications.
According to R. Sikorski, the Kremlin’s actions are already on the verge of open aggression. As examples of hostile actions, he cited sending drones towards international airports, attempts to mine and set fire to shopping centers and passenger planes, as well as sending sabotage groups to kill people.
Aid package and solidarity with Ukraine
According to the Polish diplomat, despite Moscow’s pressure, Warsaw will not be intimidated.
The Polish government is already preparing a new large support package for the Ukrainian army.
“We are preparing the largest and most comprehensive aid package for Ukraine. We will not be intimidated. The more Russia bombs Ukraine, the more solidarity we must show,” emphasized R. Sikorski.
He also added that NATO and the European Union have a significant economic and military advantage over Russia, so the Kremlin should not harbor illusions about impunity.
We remind that Poland plans to allocate a new aid package worth 50 million euros to Ukraine, which will include missiles for American “Patriot” air defense systems.
In addition, Warsaw is responding strongly to the Kremlin’s nuclear blackmail and threats to destroy Poland within a few days.
The country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that Russia indeed has an advantage in certain weapons areas, but due to NATO allies’ resistance, it is unlikely to be able to use it.
