The Lithuanian Energy Agency (LEA) has created a new digital fuel price map – it provides fuel prices updated every weekday morning at all gas stations operating in Lithuania. The fuel price map is designed for use both on computers and mobile phones. Here, users can find the lowest and highest fuel prices and the gas stations offering them based on their location in a specific municipality and settlement. The aim is to make relevant information publicly available to fuel consumers and decision-makers.

“One of the priorities of the Ministry of Energy is to ensure competition in energy markets. Due to geopolitical unrest, rising fuel prices have a significant impact on our country’s entire economy, and it is important for businesses and residents to receive reliable information about current fuel prices. Transparency in the fuel market and publicly available information about prices at gas stations will help residents and businesses make decisions about where it is most advantageous to refuel, as well as increase competition among different gas stations,” says Energy Minister Lukas Savickas.

“Oil products still dominate the final energy structure in Lithuania, so information about fuel prices remains very relevant and must be publicly accessible. Based on the good practices of other European Union member states, the Lithuanian Energy Agency collects and publishes information about fuel prices sold to consumers at gas stations from all gas station networks every working day. The user-friendly digital map created by LEA allows viewing and comparing fuel prices across Lithuania in one place, helps fuel consumers get reliable information and choose the most economically beneficial place to buy fuel, and enables policymakers to monitor national market trends and, if necessary, make data-driven decisions,” says LEA director Agnė Bagočiutė.
The Lithuanian Energy Agency has been continuously monitoring fuel price changes in Lithuania and EU countries since 2011, as well as the situation in global energy markets and price trends.
With the outbreak of the military conflict in the Middle East and the sharp increase in oil and fuel prices, there was a need to publish the most up-to-date fuel price data in Lithuania. From April 8, according to the order of the Minister of Energy, companies selling motor fuels to consumers must provide information to the Lithuanian Energy Agency about fuel prices at gas stations every working day at 10 a.m. The received data is published on the LEA website ena.lt.

LEA has created a fuel price data collection system that allows fuel trading companies to submit data in the way most convenient for them. Every working day before 10 a.m., data on the current fuel prices is received from gas station operators into the fuel price collection system. From 11 a.m., gas station companies can voluntarily update information in real time as soon as prices change.
The new fuel price map created by LEA provides users with the opportunity to quickly, conveniently, and in one place see fuel prices across Lithuania and compare prices in different parts of the country.
Using the map, you can view the 5 cheapest gas stations offering fuel in the selected area, compare prices of 95 gasoline, diesel, and LPG, filter information by municipality, city, gas station address, or gas station network, and also see which fuels are sold at a specific gas station. By selecting the cheapest gas stations near your location, the map will show suggested travel routes to the chosen gas station.
The fuel price map is a website, and it can also be conveniently used on a mobile phone. By saving the site on the phone’s home screen, the map can be used like an app.
