Officers of the State Police Žiemgala Region Administration Response Division, while monitoring traffic in the Dobele district, noticed an “Audi” car in which a child was being transported very unsafely, violating several traffic rules.
The child in the car almost fell out through the car’s sunroof. The State Police initiated two administrative offense cases for this incident and imposed a fine.
As reported, on Wednesday at about 14:52, officers in the Dobele district noticed an “Audi” car transporting a child who was half sticking out through the sunroof. They immediately urged the driver to stop the vehicle. It turned out that the car was driven by a 34-year-old woman, traveling with the child.
Two administrative offense cases were initiated for this type of child transportation.
One of them was initiated under the second paragraph of the sixth part of Article 79 of the Road Traffic Act for transporting children whose height does not exceed 150 cm if the child is transported in the vehicle with seat belts but not in a child seat suitable for their age and weight or on a booster seat installed according to the manufacturer’s instructions and is not secured with a seat belt. A fine of 30 to 70 euros is imposed for such a violation. In this case, the vehicle driver was fined 30 euros.
In the second case, an administrative offense case was initiated under part 2 of Article 51 of the Road Traffic Act for transporting a passenger who is not wearing a seat belt. For such a violation, the vehicle driver is fined from 30 to 70 euros. In this case, the vehicle driver was fined 30 euros.
