In the XIII and XIV Cabinets, K. Prunskienė was responsible for agriculture. Antanas Valionis, who worked as the head of Lithuanian diplomacy in the XIII Government alongside her, told BNS that the late politician was a representative of balanced politics.
“The Amber Lady, who won the world over with her charm and professionalism. That unforgettable voyage, when she met with (then US President – BNS) George Bush, later with the UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, and later with the French President Francois Mitterrand. These were big steps towards Lithuania’s recognition, and at the same time, she was such a representative of balanced politics,” A. Valionis told BNS on Thursday.
