“This is an important and long-awaited project. We want residents to have a modern, cozy, and accessible place where they can not only receive necessary services but also gather and communicate,” said Ramunė Olšauskaitė-Urbonienė, director of the Palanga municipality administration, in a statement.
On Šventosios Street, next to the eldership, a one-story building with an attic will be built, featuring a 150-seat event hall, a library, and a post office, administrative spaces, the Fire and Rescue Service, and an Ambulance post. It will be able to accommodate 20 employees.
The building will also include space for a café and art exhibitions, a canopy will be installed, and nearby there will be a parking lot, an event square, and relaxation areas.
The community house project is planned to be completed within 26 months with the possibility of a five-month extension, the municipality announced.
The building permit was obtained on August 12, according to data from the portal “Infostatyba.lt”.
As BNS reported, the Palanga municipality announced a home builder competition for the third time in May. The first competition did not take place due to the lack of suitable proposals or because the proposed prices exceeded the planned budget, and no proposals were received in the second competition.
The community house project was prepared by the company “Archko”.
The project is funded by the Palanga budget, and opportunities to involve state and EU funding are also being sought.
