On Thursday, CNN issued an apology to D. Parton’s family:

“We regret this mistake and apologize to the Parton family,” CNN representatives told the New York Post.

D. Parton’s family did not comment on the situation.

According to K. Vohnn, the photo shown on the show was taken in December on the red carpet during the screening of the film “Song Sung Blue” in Las Vegas.

“My heart was already broken because of Dolly’s loss, as she gave me, as a woman and artist, so much. But seeing those photos on the screen was really strange,” K. Vohnn told the New York Post.

K. Vohnn regrets that instead of this mistake, any of the wonderful moments and photos from the rich legend’s career could have been chosen. She also emphasized that she is a tribute performer, i.e., she has never tried to pretend to be the real Dolly.

“I have always been known as a tribute performer to Dolly and many other stars,” said K. Vohnn.
