“As every year, the biggest impact on customer flow is the weather. This May and June were rainier, so we had fewer customers. But as the weather warmed up, people are again eager to choose kayaking,” she said.
According to her, the most popular summer weekends fill up at least two weeks before the trip.
“If the weather is good, weekends are always busy. People book in advance, but if the forecast worsens, reservations are often moved to another day or canceled. This summer we had the most cancellations in all 14 years of operation,” said R. Veličkienė.

She said the company takes a flexible approach to the situation and does not force customers to kayak in the rain: “We do not ask for an advance. Usually, sooner or later the customer returns and goes out the next day.”
However, company teams tend to stick more to pre-planned dates.
“If a team building is planned, people usually kayak even if it is cloudy. Of course, if the weather is very bad – lightning and thunder – it is a fact that we do not allow kayaking ourselves. But if it is just cloudy, definitely some people, especially companies, still kayak,” the interviewee said.
