Tautvydas Paliulis, Director of the “Regitra” Service Management and Development Department, shared that more than 240 thousand driver’s licenses were ordered in 2025 alone, and 93 thousand of them were ordered through the “Regitra” self-service portal. This shows that these people handled everything online and did not need to visit a “Regitra” branch.
Both men and women order driver’s licenses online equally. However, although the age and gender distribution of those ordering this personal document online is quite similar, women use the self-service portal more often due to changed personal data, for example, after changing their surname following marriage. For this reason, last year 28 thousand women ordered licenses online, while only about 11 thousand drivers visited branches.
“Speaking about services for customers, seasonality is definitely noticeable. Currently, there is an increase in driver’s license orders due to changes in personal data, so we make sure that people do not forget to renew this important document. We are pleased to offer driver’s license delivery directly to homes or selected parcel terminals quickly and conveniently. Customers appreciate this,” said T. Paliulis.
It is also important to mention that from 2025, “Regitra” cooperates with the Migration Department, which sends reminders to residents that when their surname changes, they need to change their driver’s license as well.
How to order a driver’s license online?
To order a driver’s license on the self-service website, a valid driver’s health medical certificate is required. If you do not have one, it is enough to visit a healthcare institution and check your health. The obtained certificate will automatically be sent electronically to “Regitra”.

It is important to note that you can check whether a previously issued medical certificate is valid on the Drivers’ Portal. By the way, on this portal, you can also order a reminder service about the expiration of the driver’s license.
Since a photo is required when ordering a driver’s license electronically, it is important that at least one of the personal documents, such as a driver’s license, identity card, or passport, was issued no more than five years ago, because then the photo and signature are automatically obtained from the Population Register. However, after the wedding, drivers usually have already renewed their personal documents, so renewing the license is very easy.
When receiving a new driver’s license, you have the option to choose the most convenient production time. A driver’s license made within 15 working days will cost 17.15 Eur, within 5 working days – 34.30 Eur, and within 1 working day – 51.45 Eur.
The document ordered online can be delivered by courier or to parcel self-service terminals. The cost of driver’s license delivery by courier to your home is 6.99 Eur, and delivery to a parcel self-service terminal is 4.90 Eur.
