Dr. Remigijus Kinderis, director of Klaipėda State College, emphasizes the region’s potential and the event’s importance for young people’s future: “Western Lithuania has talented, ambitious youth and strong business potential. Our duty is to connect these two worlds so that young people build their future here, in the region. A strong region starts with a person who sees opportunities to grow, create, and realize themselves in their homeland. With this event, we aim to show young people that Western Lithuania can offer not only quality studies but also a clear and meaningful professional path.”

“Such events are especially important today because they create a direct dialogue between youth, business, and educational institutions. Higher education institutions cannot operate separately from labor market needs, and businesses must actively engage in training future specialists. Only by cooperating can we provide young people not only with knowledge but also with a clear perspective on their professional future in the region,” says Klaipėda University Rector Prof. Dr. Artūras Razbadauskas.
Event spaces – from direct contacts with employers to career development
The organizers of “EMPLOY THE FUTURE 2026” pay special attention to the event program and participant experience, so Klaipėda’s “Švyturys” arena will be divided into thematic areas where career opportunities, study choice directions will open, practical sessions will take place, and live meetings with business and education representatives will be held. Years of experience organizing career days at KU and KVK allow expecting to attract over 8,000 schoolchildren and students to the “Employ the Future 2026” event.
One of the most important highlights of the career day is the employer contact area located in the main hall of the Švyturys arena, where the organizers plan to gather more than 100 employers from different sectors. Various companies and business organizations will present themselves at stands, and direct meetings with students, schoolchildren, and job seekers are planned. During the event, job, internship, and career opportunities in different regional sectors will be presented.
Participants will be able to get closer acquainted with the study programs of Klaipėda University and Klaipėda State College, student clubs, teams, and other activities existing in educational institutions. The organizers emphasize that this space will present a modern, science-based, and experience-supported approach to studies and career path choices.
“Employ the Future 2026” participants will find career planning and competency development activities – thematic seminars, expert insights, CV preparation and job interview workshops, professional meetings, and discussions. The program will be adapted to different audiences: students, schoolchildren, career specialists, and teachers. There will also be a special space for short presentations by partners and employers. The organizers stress that the main goal of the event is to help young people plan their careers now and establish valuable professional contacts for the future.
