This decision was voted for by 24 council members, one abstained.
“The basis of this decision is court rulings, the decision of the Lithuanian Genocide and Resistance Research Center that the street name must be changed. As is known, all court instances have been passed, the Constitutional Court did not accept the municipality’s request on this matter,” said the municipality’s chief architect Lukas Banys while presenting the issue during the council meeting.
