Today, on Military Intelligence Day, we remember the unique missions of Ukrainian scouts worldwide. On land and sea, on the ground and in the air, in the hot desert sands and icy Antarctic snows, military intelligence carries out the most complex tasks for the Motherland,” K. Budanovas wrote on social media.
According to the former head of military intelligence, for 34 years GUR has “taken care of Ukraine’s security,” and during the full-scale war, special forces soldiers have become “one of the strongest pillars of Ukraine’s statehood and freedom.”
“I wish you a steel spirit and a steady hand, a reliable friend beside you who will cover your back. The tasks carried out by GUR are the most difficult possible, and a scout must always be ready to accomplish them,” he emphasized.
Ukraine’s Defense Minister Yevheniy Khmara also congratulated military intelligence representatives on their professional holiday. He stressed that scouts collect information daily, on which battlefield decisions depend, inflict heavy losses on the enemy, and weaken Russia’s ability to fight.
“Behind every successful operation often lies work that no one sees: hours of preparation, surveillance, analysis, cold calculation, and patience.
It is precisely this that allows the Defense Forces to act in advance and change the course of military actions. This service demands enormous responsibility. For every decision, for saving comrades’ lives, and for the success of military operations,” the minister noted.
The scouts were also congratulated by Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky, who in his greeting emphasized that military intelligence soldiers, together with other Defense Forces fighters, ensured the defense of Kyiv, liberated Snake Island, and “hundreds of other defensive operations on our state’s territory and behind enemy lines, which are necessary for Ukraine.”
