On July 14, around 11 a.m., Rosita Klimkevičienė, an investigator at the Activity Division of the Panevėžys City and District Police Commissariat of the Panevėžys County Chief Police Commissariat, while performing her official duties, received a person who came for the drawing up of an administrative offense protocol.
While talking with the man, the officer noticed that he might be intoxicated, so she asked how he arrived at the police commissariat. The man stated that a friend brought him.
After completing the administrative procedure and saying goodbye to the man, the investigator decided to make sure that he would indeed leave as a passenger. However, it soon became clear that shortly after leaving the commissariat and receiving a fine for other violations, the man got behind the wheel of his BMW car.

The officer immediately informed the Response Division officers.
The car was promptly stopped on Beržų Street. A sobriety check revealed that the man had a blood alcohol level of 2.19‰.
The professional and vigilant actions of the investigator helped prevent a potentially dangerous situation on the roads. Thanks to the officer’s attentiveness, a heavily intoxicated driver, whose journey could have ended in tragic consequences, did not take to the streets of Panevėžys.
