The name of Ieva Šadžiūtė herself was heard in Lithuania this summer. The girl participated in the World Youth (U20) Athletics Championship, where she completed the distance in 11.83 seconds.
In the qualifying race, she took 6th place, and in the final standings she was 45th (out of 64 candidates).

The result demonstrated by the runner is the fifth in her career, and she was 0.12 seconds short of her personal record set this June.
“I came to the championship wanting to improve my personal record. It would have been very nice to get into the semifinals. However, I had to run with zero wind – there was nothing to push me, and the heat at that hour was not what we sprinters like, so the result may not be what I dreamed of. Still, I am very happy to have been able to represent Lithuania at such a level of competition,” shared I. Šadžiūtė about her impressions.
