23 years of our marriage today.
Nothing grand — no solemn celebrations, no gifts. We had dinner and a selfie with the Gediminas Castle Tower. Purely solemn. We no longer even have time to take a photo together, just so you know…
I think it is always more important how you live every day. Not just sometimes and on special occasions.
Marriage is a very important and strong thing. And just don’t start with me here — why is it needed??? What does it mean?
Rituals, vows, and an oath before God and people — mean a lot.
But the most important thing is each person’s commitment to be in love and close with the person you were lucky to meet and for whom you allowed yourself to lose your head. And it was real.
So real that you didn’t think or ponder — you felt and went.
Most of all, I wish everyone to fall in love strongly and firmly. And not to postpone being together, and most importantly — the commitment. The so-called COMMITMENT. Because it means only one thing: inner discipline and character.
Marriage is trust in yourself and life. It is not postponing. It is joy and appreciation of what you have — not looking for what you haven’t lost.
It is gratitude.
We met in April 2002 — I lived in Vilnius, Tomas in London. At the beginning of September 2002, he proposed with his great-grandmother’s ring. We got married in July 2003. And after marriage, we continued living in different cities and countries… Distance only melts what is not real.
Did I manage to meet the love of my life?? Definitely yes. Grateful to my friend Vilma for the introduction, ha ha.
If you know you know — let’s not postpone life. Maybe this could be the title of our love story, ha ha ha.
