Before the meeting, Žalgiris player Dustin Sleva spoke about the ongoing team preparation and the main tasks of the match.
“We are trying to get used to being a team, integrating new guys into the system. I think the players who stayed in the team after last season help a lot – they can explain even more what we are trying to achieve and contribute to building mutual chemistry,” emphasized D. Sleva.
D. Sleva also described the first weeks of preparation.
“At the beginning, our game will be messy, ugly, but it is important to polish the small things – fighting for balls in offense, help defense, defensive systems, so every day we improve these things. We won’t play perfectly right away, but that’s what the control matches are for,” added the Žalgiris player.
The American highlighted the most important goals for the match against Juventus and spoke about the competitive fight within the team.
“I feel the same as last season. The most important thing is to do your job and help the team win. You never know when your time will come – even if you play many minutes, it might not be your day on the court. A long season with many opportunities awaits,” answered D. Sleva.
