Two clubs will represent Lithuania this season, as last year: Elektrėnai’s “Energija” and Vilnius “Hockey Punks – Mototoja”. The championship will also feature: “MOGO/RSU”, “Zemgale/LBTU”, Liepaja ice hockey team, “Prizma/RTU”, Riga HS/”Dinaburga” (all from Latvia), Kyiv “Capitals” (Ukraine) and Tallinn “Panter” (Estonia).

In the new championship regular season, teams will play 32 matches each (4 rounds) – one round less than last year.

The top 6 teams will qualify for the playoffs. Clubs finishing 1st and 2nd will advance directly to the semifinals. In the quarterfinals (best of 3 wins), the 3rd will face the 6th and the 4th will face the 5th placed teams. The semifinals and finals series will be played to 4 wins.

The winner of the playoffs will be recognized as the Baltic champion. The Lithuanian and Latvian national champions will be determined by the highest position in the regular season standings.

Vilnius “Hockey Punks – Mototoja” will play their first season game at home on September 5 against “Rigas HS/Dinaburga” (Latvia). Elektrėnai “Energija” will play their first championship game at home on September 12 and will host the Vilnius club.

The full regular season schedule will be announced next week. The official league press conference and season presentation are planned for September 4.
