The store opening in Kaunas attracted a lot of attention and customer interest. Even before the store opened its doors, Kaunas residents were gathering, waiting for the new store to open. On this occasion, customers were treated to various entertainments, refreshments, special offers on both food and non-food products, allowing shopping at the usual low “Lidl” price.

The new store is of the usual format, well known to many customers. The store operates both regular and self-service checkouts. XXL self-service checkouts are perfectly suited for larger purchases and quick shopping. It is estimated that payment at self-service checkouts takes on average 2 minutes.
Next to the store, there is also a very convenient and spacious parking lot, which will always allow finding a parking space and ensure quick and comfortable shopping. The store is also convenient for electric car drivers – there are parking spaces next to the store where electric cars can be charged.
The store team consists of about 30 employees. According to data from “Rekvizitai.lt” for May 2026, Lidl, which pays the most competitive salaries among the major retail chains, had an average salary of 3077 euros before taxes.

More convenient infrastructure and smooth communication
“The new store opened its doors in a convenient and important location for Kaunas residents – at the beginning of Rokelių Street, which connects Panemunė with the rapidly growing Rokelių and Rokai settlements. We are pleased not only to open a new store but also to contribute to the improvement of the environment and infrastructure. We have arranged the previously free space, created a convenient entrance from Rokelių Street through a new section of S. Fanstilio Street, and renewed pedestrian infrastructure so that residents of the surrounding districts can reach us safely and comfortably,” says Antanas Bubnelis, Head of Communications and Corporate Affairs at Lidl Lithuania.
Continuing cooperation with the city, the retail chain has significantly contributed to improving local transport at its own expense. To ensure traffic safety, additional acceleration, deceleration, and turning lanes have been installed on Marijampolės Road. Rokelių Street has also been renovated: an additional traffic lane, two new public transport stops with pedestrian paths, and a safe, illuminated pedestrian crossing have been installed. In addition, part of the future S. Fanstilio Street has been laid at the intersection with Rokelių Street. Due to these changes, the store will be conveniently accessible both to local residents and city dwellers traveling through this traffic artery.
Currently, there are 87 Lidl stores operating in Lithuania in 31 cities: Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai, Alytus, Marijampolė, Kėdainiai, Telšiai, Kretinga, Mažeikiai, Tauragė, Jonava, Panevėžys, Ukmergė, Utena, Plungė, Palanga, Elektrėnai, Visaginas, Šilutė, Radviliškis, Vilkaviškis, Druskininkai, Rokiškis, Kaišiadorys, Nemenčinė, Gargždai, Molėtai, Jurbarkas, Raseiniai, and Garliava.
