Starting the year in the middle of the ATP top 100, and having studied at the University of Virginia just last year, young Rafa is doing fantastic things in his first professional season.
Since April, R. Jodaras has reached his seventh ATP quarterfinal out of eight tournaments played, and during this period he has already won an ATP 250 event in Morocco, reached the final of the ATP 500 tournament in Washington, and made his debut in a Grand Slam quarterfinal.
At the Masters level, this will be the young player’s third consecutive quarterfinal, and only two other tennis players have achieved this feat before the age of 20 – compatriots Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz.

R. Jodaras is expected to rise to 13th place in the ATP rankings soon, and the final in Montreal will likely open the door to the Top 10. It’s hard to believe, but in his first years he has excellent chances to qualify for the year-end tournament in Turin – currently Rafa is tenth in the race and only 16 points behind Felix Auger-Aliassime, who is in eighth place.
This year, young Rafa has already defeated opponents such as Alex De Minaur, Joao Fonseca, Learner Tien, and Lorenzo Musetti.
In the quarterfinals, the Spaniard will face another ATP Tour talent – Arthur Fils (ATP-24). The Frenchman defeated Brit Cameron Norrie (ATP-37) with a score of 6:2, 7:6(8).
