Although the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service forecasts calmer weather today, firefighters and rescuers do not rule out that the number of reports about the consequences of yesterday’s storm may still increase (today, from 6 a.m., 4 calls have already been received to remove the consequences of strong winds). Fallen trees, broken branches or other dangers are often noticed only the next day, when residents start moving more actively on roads, visiting gardens, forests or recreation areas.

This year, firefighters and rescuers have already carried out 516 works to remove fallen trees and broken branches. Most of them were registered in April (194) and May (205).
