“Today, one of the most important priorities for the Registry Center must be cybersecurity and data security. As the importance of digital services grows, it is necessary to ensure the resilience, reliability, and public trust in the state’s information systems. Therefore, we expect strong leadership, the ability to unite the team, and strengthen cooperation with institutions responsible for cybersecurity and critical infrastructure protection. The Registry Center also needs technological renewal, which would allow modernizing systems and ensuring the highest standards of data protection and service quality,” says the Minister of Economy and Innovation Edvinas Grikšas.
Candidates for these positions must have a higher university education (a master’s degree or an equivalent qualification), and at least five years of managerial work experience in the last 10 years in positions such as legal entity head, deputy, or head of a structural unit operating at a strategic level.
Additionally, candidates must have work experience in one of the following areas: information technology and systems design, development, implementation, and administration; implementation of digitization projects and innovative technology process deployment; company activity strategy formation and implementation; finance and risk management.
In performing their duties, the head of the State Enterprise Registry Center will have to ensure the reliable operation of registers and state information systems, strengthen information technology and data security solutions, coordinate the implementation of strategic activity plans, and ensure effective provision of state information services.
They will also have to ensure rational use of state resources, an effective internal control system, high standards of operational efficiency and transparency, and contribute to the implementation of innovative and advanced digital solutions at the state level.

The new head’s salary will range from 8.8 thousand to 19.8 thousand euros (before taxes).
BNS wrote that after publicly announcing the data theft last Friday, on Monday the head of the Registry Center Adrijus Jusas resigned, and the position is temporarily held by the head of the RC Prevention Department Giedrius Cininas.
E. Grikšas has said that when he and the Prime Minister learned about the stolen data in April, new details about the former Registry Center head’s actions regarding data security kept emerging.
He stated he was not satisfied with A. Jusas’s communication with the ministry and how quickly the necessary decisions were made.
The General Prosecutor’s Office is investigating possible illegal logins and the appropriation of more than 600,000 real estate register entries, including people’s personal identification numbers. According to law enforcement, the logins were made through “hacked” Migration Department employees’ accounts from abroad.
The first illegal logins and data thefts date back to the beginning of this year, and the Registry Center became aware of this in April.
