Money borrowed on behalf of the state would be allocated to cover lawyers’ expenses. According to the draft government resolution, no funds were planned for this in the preparation of the 2026–2028 budget because the need for them was not known.
At the request of the Ministry of Transport, the law firm “Ellex Valiūnas ir partneriai” and its partner – the UK law firm “Allen Overy Shearman Sterling” – are requested to be allocated 305.8 thousand euros for services provided in January–March 2026 representing Lithuania in the dispute with “Hasenberg”, and the same Lithuanian law firm and its partner – the world-renowned London firm “Covington & Burling” – are requested an additional 327.5 thousand euros for representation in the dispute with “Belaruskalij” for the same period.
