The army is also being used to strengthen the protection of the LitPol Link power connection with Poland at the Alytus distribution station, the transformer substation in the Alytus district municipality, and the Kruonis pumped storage power plant.
The army will provide support from July 19 to August 19, allocating a unit of up to 30 soldiers equipped with transport, and a ship or boat with a crew.
The operational area and specific tasks will have to be coordinated by the soldiers with the Public Security Service, which is responsible for protecting critical infrastructure.
