However, there was no opening on the scheduled day – it was reported that „currently, due to weather conditions, the park area is not yet suitable for comfortable visiting,“ so the opening was postponed to Sunday, August 30.
Still, Vilnius residents living nearby shook their heads – nature has not spared rain all summer this year, and according to forecasts, at least the first week of August would also be rainy. And this place near Linkmenų Street has long been known as very wet.
A Vilnius resident Vilma who visited the amusement park on the first weekend of September told 15min that the sight both surprised and scared her.
„It seemed to me that it is simply unsafe here. Puddles were everywhere, pallets were laid on the paths – people walk on them. But the wood is wet, so it’s slippery.
And the attractions themselves stand in water, is that really appropriate? The sight definitely does not look attractive or inviting,“ said the Vilnius resident.
The photos she shared show exactly the kind of scene Vilma talks about – puddles and mud, which can only be crossed because the paths are covered with pallets.
True, there were also few people – barely one or two.
„I don’t understand how the Vilnius city municipality issued a permit for an amusement park in such a place,“ the Vilnius resident wondered.
However, the Vilnius city municipality defends itself – the territory is private, so the municipality did not have to coordinate any permits.
It was not possible to contact „Baltic attractions“ via 15min – their published phone number is unreachable. The amusement park organizers also did not respond to messages on social media.
