US negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner met with V. Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin over the weekend to try to resume talks to end the year-and-a-half-long war.
A source in the Ukrainian presidency told AFP news agency that S. Witkoff and J. Kushner made “more effective proposals” to end the conflict, although neither Moscow nor Kyiv reported any breakthrough.

“I had a meeting with the (Ukrainian) negotiation team after our talks (…). We are coordinating our next steps. We are preparing other meetings and communication,” V. Zelensky posted on the social network Facebook.
