“A total of over 200 – 238 animals have been taken as of today, there are still over 70 animals not taken, although the zoo does not have legal acquisition documents, and the situation is changing day by day,” Mantė Ramanauskienė, head of the AAD Wildlife Protection Department, told LRT radio on Friday.

“The animals that were taken last were definitely not planned to be taken, they had legal acquisition documents, but we see that they are not being cared for, that they are suffering, that they are being treated cruelly, so it was decided to take them immediately after expert evaluation,” she added.
