A pre-trial investigation has been launched regarding the accident involving children at the aviation airfield in Kėdainiai

The incident in the Kėdainiai district occurred on the morning of August 12.

“At about 09:00, a report was received that in Kėdainiai district, Koliupė village, a metal pipe fell on a minor (born in 2013),” confirmed the representatives of the Kaunas County Chief Police Commissariat to “Kėdainių mugė”.

According to them, due to the injuries sustained, the girl was taken to a medical facility.

A pre-trial investigation has been launched into this incident under Article 137 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Lithuania, i.e. serious health impairment due to negligence, 1st part. According to it, anyone who, through negligence, seriously injures or causes illness to a person is punished by restriction of liberty or arrest, or imprisonment for up to three years.

As previously reported, the Lithuanian Children’s Aviation Sports Championship in the Kėdainiai district was organized from August 10–14. The event organizer is the “Airtech” division of the Lithuanian Non-formal Education Agency.

Participants and spectators from different Lithuanian cities come to these competitions.

The family of the injured girl also came from another city in the country.
