The team playing in Italy’s top league Serie A for the first time has extended the contract with the footballer until the end of the 2027-2028 season.

In an official statement, Como named the reason as the “continued commitment to the player.”
The 34-year-old footballer began cancer treatment and will be monitored by the Como club’s medical staff.

“Everyone at Como supports Roberta and will provide her and her family with all possible assistance over the coming months,” the club’s statement said. “We ask that you respect Roberta’s privacy as she focuses on treatment and recovery.”
R. Picchi was an important player for the team last season when Como confidently won the Serie B championship and advanced to the top division.
