The man is accused of committing various sexual crimes against 361 children between 2019 and 2022.
According to Finland’s public broadcaster Yle, the victims were boys living throughout Finland.
In December 2023, the Finnish police announced they were investigating a 27-year-old man suspected of 364 sexual crimes against children.
The National Prosecutor’s Office stated in June that prosecutors decided not to file charges in three of these cases.
In December, the police said that in 2022, thousands of unidentified videos and photos of children were found on the man’s mobile phone, which officers searched while investigating another criminal case.

The man is suspected of contacting children via Snapchat and asking them to take photos or videos of themselves with little clothing or naked and send these images to him.
According to the police, he also asked them to perform sexual acts.
The main charges against him are aggravated sexual exploitation of children, sexual exploitation of children, and distribution of images depicting children sexually under aggravating circumstances, the prosecutor told the news agency AFP in court.
During the investigation, the man partially admitted his guilt for the crimes.
About 45 court days are allocated for the case, so the trial is expected to last “at least until the end of this year,” the court said.
