According to the Ministry of the Interior, a total of 225 migrants reached England on Friday, traveling by this and two other boats.
The news agency PA and broadcaster BBC reported that with one boat carrying 128 people, a previous record was broken, set in September 2025 when one boat arrived with 125 people.
Although not confirming this number, a Ministry of the Interior press representative told the news agency AFP on Sunday that “smuggling networks are taking greater risks than ever before, and the number of people crammed into unseaworthy boats is increasing every year.”
Data released by the Ministry of the Interior at the beginning of July shows that the number of migrants arriving in the UK via the English Channel in the first half of 2026 decreased by 41 percent compared to the same period last year.

Since January 1, approximately 12,439 people have arrived.
In April, the UK government signed a three-year agreement with French officials to allocate £662 million (777 million euros) to fund patrols on the northern French beaches from which the boats depart.
At the beginning of July, the Labour government also introduced an important bill in Parliament aimed at reforming the asylum and immigration system.
This initiative is led by Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood, and its goal is to deter people from illegal immigration and speed up deportation.
