Early Tuesday morning, emergency services were called to the scene when gas began leaking due to structural collapse. Later, SoCalGas confirmed that the leak was stopped.
Traffic cones were placed around the collapse. AFP reported that waves crashing onto the shore were seen “rushing into the hole and then retreating again under the supports holding the house.”
The damage occurred after a flood warning was issued for the Los Angeles coast. The warning was related to Tropical Storm Marie, which had previously reached hurricane strength.
