After the first quarter, Lithuania led 25:20, but after the second, Poland was ahead (41:35).
In the third quarter, after Gabija Galvanauskaitė’s shot from under the basket, the score was tied (49:49, 27 min.), and after three quarters, Poland led 52:49.
With 6 minutes left in the fourth quarter, Sintija Aukštikalnytė tied the score (56:56), and Daniele Paunksnytė’s three-pointer after a very long break allowed the Lithuanians to take the lead again.
However, with 1 minute 22 seconds remaining, Maria Burliga restored a minimal lead for the Poles, and S. Aukštikalnytė tied the score with a precise free throw with 3.2 seconds left.
In the final attack, the Lithuanians failed to defend without fouling, and Maria Burliga, who went to the free-throw line, made the first shot, deliberately missed the second, and the Lithuanians simply had no time left to respond.
In the match against Poland, Daniele Paunksnytė made 5 three-pointers out of 10, grabbed 10 rebounds, made 6 assists, and scored 22 points.
